Stair Style

Stairs7

Kind of a spoiler to show you the finished product before hand, but really who wants to look at those ugly old stairs?! No one. Bring on the pretty. Let’s talk about how these stairs happened.

Stairs1

It all started with my hatred of the stairs old look…it wasn’t working for me or them. I thought about painting or stenciling them up nice…but all of that seemed like a lot of work. I really did hate them, but I had standards for how much time I was willing to spend on them. I had already ordered some Flor tiles for some other parts of my house and I wondered if they would work on stairs. They did! It was a stair miracle.

I cut the tiles out to fit the stairs and put them down- easy as that! The rubber type backing on the Flor tiles are kind of magical and they don’t slip or move around at all. In fact, my stairs were more dangerous with just the stain on them.

Once that was done I ordered some adorable wallpaper samples from Spoonflower. Their selection is amazing and they have the cutest packaging! Love.

Stairs3 Stairs4Stairs5I got 6 different samples-one for each stair and I cut them in half to fit across the stair face. I might broke some wallpapering rules, but I just cut them before I laid them down. I got the traditional wet and stick wallpaper but I’m sure the sticky peel wallpaper would work just as well here. Stairs6

Like, that’s it! Cutest stairs ever accomplished!
