The Serbian artist Endre Penovác nails fluffy felines with stark black watercolors and ink. Penovác heavily dilutes the pigments with water creating small rivers and splotches that perfectly mimic the texture of fur.
I’ve always admired watercolor artists- it take serious discipline to get it right. My hand has always been too heavy for this delicate art- with oil paints you can just layer on top if you make a mistake, that is not the case with watercolor. This guy is impressive and cat paintings…what is not to love?
