This is my favorite recipe to make during the holiday season and so easy! Move over banana bread, this quick bread is tops in my book. So let’s make some bread!
Cranberry Bread, an awesome family recipe
Makes 1 loaf or 6 mini loaves
2 – cups sifted flour
1 – cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup orange juice
3 tablespoon melted shortening
1/2 cup chopped walnuts *optional
1 cup cut cranberries
2 tablespoons hot water
Mix all ingredients in your stand mixer or by hand until well combined.
Place into a lightly greased loaf pan of your choice.
Bake at 325°F
1 hour for 1 loaf pan
30 minutes for mini loaves
When it’s done it should be golden brown and a toothpick should come out clean when inserted into the loaf.
Let it cool on a cooling rack before you remove it from the loaf pan. Enjoy as a breakfast treat or anytime snack!
